These are a little softer than the “Soft” style. They are fully lined in fabric, including the toe box. I am still breaking them in so am hoping that the fabric doesn’t interfere with that process. They fit just like other Dr Martens even though they have the padding. Just a little tighter but not anything that bothers me. Will start wearing these to work one they are broken in.

I unfortunately had to send this boot back because it was too narrow and the seam over the instep was unusually tight. However, the boot was otherwise comfortable and felt like there would be little to no break in period. I really liked the padded lining in the ankle and because I work in an Amazon warehouse I was looking forward the nonslip soles for when it comes to pulling several hundred pounds of merchandise and being able to stop without sliding around on a slippery floor. Since I needed the boots right away I had to go with 1460’s instead of waiting for a size 4 to come back in stock for these.

Zappos is amazing in less then 24hrs we received these boots! The boots a very comfortable and have great traction for restaurant work.

Had to update my review. I stated earlier that these felt as though they would break in. After wearing these for 2 months, taking them to a cobbler to have them stretched over a 3-day period, and working wonder balsam in multiple times… they are still very comfortable. I’m convinced the lining in the toe box does not allow the boot to fully mold to your feet. After an hour of wear, these cause numbness in the toes. Not acceptable for a server shift. While it states on the official doc site that these are lighter, Zappos weight description, and my own conparison shows this to be false. The padding in the ankle seems unnecessary and creates too much bulk. These are the most uncomfortable docs I have owned to date. The nonslip sole, however, is amazing. I’ve worn pascals while serving, and those were so bouncy and comfortable. The added “features” here are unnecessary for what a server/bartender really needs, and good no skips are hard to find. Give us a softer shoe with the nonslip sole instead.

I finally snagged a pair of these in size 4. I do find them slightly smaller than the 1460’s in the same size but it works for me. They are much more skip resistant than the regular Docs. These give me better traction for pulling heavy weight around on a warehouse floor. The break in time for these was only about 1 day for me. I’m not sure about the insoles they have, they are supposedly designed for better air flow for less sweat but the insoles feel slippery to me. So far the only thing I don’t like about these are the laces, the laces are too soft for a work boot and after just 1 week are already showing signs of wear; however that is s small thing compared to the additional slip resistance.

Love them

Bought the smooth version as well, this looks much higher quality. I wear a 9.5 usually, 10 in running shoes, and ordered these in 10. Definitely a full size to big, returning for smaller.

Ok, so this my third pair of 1460’s since 1991. I still wear the second pair. They do last forever. I needed slip resistant boots for a new joband figured I couldn’t go wrong with these. I will admit I wasn’t sure about the lining and padding in the ankle and tongue. After a couple of days I have to say I do like it. I also really like the insoles once I got used to them. Of course like all Dr Martens there is a break in period, but a couple of heavy coats of Wonder Balsam and letting it soak in overnight did the trick. I only wore them a few hours after the first night to start to stretch the leather and have had them on most of the day today. Already comfortable enough for all day wear without any blisters. These are already my favorite boots ever!!! Well, except for maybe the Made in England Vintage 1460’s that I plan to buy to replace my 10 year old pair. We’ll see.

At least 2 sizes large. These are no where close to fitting the same as any other Dr. Martens I have purchased.

I am a chef and am on my second pair of these docs. Getting inserts for these was necessary for me. The first pair’s sole on one boot completely detached and could not be fixed with shoe glue. I would have worn them longer if not for that. The second pair is in need of another set of inserts but overall seem to be holding up. Its been 3 years since I started wearing these. I would give a lesser review but i am overall very happy with how they have helped me get through long hours. I love the ankle support.

The first time wearing these boots, my family and I were going shopping. I had these boots on the whole day and after we were done I forgot I still had these boots on! So comfortable and stylish!!

This shoes are perfect! I was worried about having to break them in but nope!! They are comfortable right from the get go! No complaints! I didn’t expected any less specially for the price! At first I thought they are expensive but honestly… you get what you pay for right?! This time, my purchase was worth every penny!

I wear a size 8, ordered a size 8, I put my foot into one of the boots and immediately realized the boot was too small.
Returned boots and made a different selection.

In true Docs fashion, nothing less than AWESOME!

The Dr. Martens Work 1460 SR 8-Tie Boot is a very nice boot indeed! I am a petite woman and wear a six and a half in other boots so I got a size 7 however I should have gotten a size 6. When it comes to Docs (Dr. Martens boots) you should normally size down not up. With that said it’s only about a half size too big so with thick work socks these particular boots work for me albeit just a tad big but not too big necessitating an exchange. They are the most comfortable boot I have owned yet in this particular brand; however, I only own three pairs. I don’t think you’ll regret buying the 1460 work SR 8 tie boots. They have a nice thick sole and protect your tootsies, comfortable to wear and look pretty sharp! I do love me some Docs though!!

Ive had mine for close to 3yrs now and still wearing them to work…after the break in period they have been a great work boot and quality wise they’ve held up
Christopher –
I wear anywhere from 9.5 to 11 C depending on what brand. I ordered the size 10 and they fit perfect. Length and width are great for pastor work narrower foot.

Listen. I work at an EV manufacturing plant. Which I can’t mention. But we build a pretty cool truck that will smoke just about anything at a red light. 12 hour shifts. On my feet for entire shift. Concrete floor. I get 15k plus steps in a day. I wore these right out of the box. And, I’m going on day three. Zero issues with break in. No blister.s. Airwair! Get them before they’re gone. Well worth the money. Oh by the way Im 61 years old. Been around the block a time or two. Peace.
