Loved how they looked but were very uncomfortable, the tongue rubbed, and the fit was strange, too much room at my heel but way too tight around the ankle. Bummer because I really wanted to like them!

The 939 Ben Six-Eye Core boot in brown is the second pair of this Dr. Martens style purchased. I picked up my first pair in black last season. Both pairs are comfortable and stylish; Dr. Martens trademark tread on soles provides sure footing.

Stylish but cheap-feeling and uncomfortable. These boots lack the substantial feel of other Dr. Martens footwear I have owned. Made in Vietnam.

Love the look! Great quality and just as pictured. Runs a little big, and they are challenging to “break in.” Everyone tells me this is normal for new leather boots, but ouch until we get there… Would definitely recommend!

I loathe what Doc Martens have done to the smaller size boots, making them narrow and with less of a bubble toe. After the Docs for life was discontinued I’d given up hopes of ever getting any docs like those I’ve worn for 35+ years. After talking with the DM store in UK I learned that there are still unisex styles for small sizes (i.e. traditional DM styling that has not been corrupted and girlified) they just don’t get labeled as unisex in any US online stores–not even the online DM site.
These are the true DM style and sizing! They have the bubble toe and width that keeps we smart people from ending up with crippled feet from “women’s” shoes. The leather is also the quality I expect…long outlasts the soles.
I’ve always worn UK size 4 and had enough room to add some type of cushioning insert, or orthotic for arch support, and thick smartwool socks, and these were no exception. I tried a pair of the corrupted DMs (Pascal) and had to go up to size 7 (UK 5) and they were still too narrow.
It’s too bad they don’t accurately label the styles as unisex vs women so I wouldn’t have to buy 6 pair to find one that works.

These boots have been out of stock everywhere for a long time and I’m glad to see them back!

I have always worn Dr. Martens in my 20’s and loved them so much. I am now in my 60’s and decided to get me another pair. I remembered that my feet have grown over the years and needed to order a larger size. The sizing on these are a bit confusing, since they are Euro sizing. I first ordered a size too large (from a competitor) and returned, then too small and returned, but finally found the right size. I normally wear a 6.5 wide and ended up with a size 4 Euro. the first few hours were tough and a bit painful. I needed to break in the area where the tongue is stitched to the shoe due to my high arch. After spraying a fine mist of water inside near the tongue area and stomping around the house in them with thin socks for a few hours they started to feel like I remembered. The soles are so springey and comfey! I will continue to wear them in the house for a few more days before venturing out for a lengthy walk around, but I know they will be perfect, just like the “Old Days”!
Be prepared for a break-in period when you first get them. Be patient. Once they mold to your feet, you will hopefully love them as much as I do.

Fits just like they did years ago. Took one day to break in, then they were perfect. Looks great too! I usually wear a women’s size 7/7.5 and uk size 5 fits great. The soles are comfortable too, not hard and stiff like other boots. Dr Martins are classic and the quality of these is the same as it was 20 years ago. Zappo shipping is the best too!!!

Been wanting a pair of docs since I was in college since I loved mine back then. These were so much clunkier and stiffer than I remembered. I’m normally a size 7.5 and these were way too big. Ended up returning them and shopping the kid’s Docs. I think I found what will work for me!

I’ve worn Dr. Marten’s before and liked them a lot. I originally purchased them in 8.5 which the size chart was equal to a US Men’s size 9. They actually fit like an 8. I wore them twice, and they rubbed the skin on the back of my left foot, above the heel raw. Exchanged them for the 9, which was a US size 10. Too big. Had to return them as well.
Excellent customer service from Zappos as always.

I have worn this style for 25 years. Still awesome!

I have been searching for a pair of Doc Martens to replace a pair I bought 20 years ago and still wear despite their rough appearance. I thought I found a suitable replacement in these boots, but I’m not quite sure. The boots look great, but they seem very big and clunky and I almost feel as if they are wearing me. I have narrow but long feet and really was searching for something a little more streamlined. Overall I am satisfied with the shoes for now and will continue to be a loyal Doc Marten customer. Just wish they were a tiny bit more feminine if that’s possible.

Something must be wrong with the sizing because these were HUGE in all ways and not a women’s size 6 (even though it said it was). Returning and looking in a real store to try on Doc Martens from now on.

There must have been a huge mix-up with the sizing of these boots–it said ladies’ size 6 and was at least a size 7 wide. So back they went.

I have the 939 6 eyelet boots
Leather is very soft except toe area
The size 8 pinched my toes and that area of shoe will not stretch or break in
So I tried the size 9 toe area was much better but other areas of shoe seemed to roomy
The agent at the fashion valley store in San Diego suggested their insole
That totally made the boots fit perfect
Bought the doc socks for the break in period
I’m liking these 939s
Makes me look cool
You need to make an effort at my age ???

These boots were way too small and unlike previous Dr. Martin’s the insert is not removable which I need to use my own orthotic.

Have had many Dr martins in the past. Love them. Always wear size 10. These felt cheap, thin, they cut into my foot and ankle, felt so bad trying one on I didn’t even take the other out of the box. Super disappointed. You can see in the picture the difference in size, both size 10

The fit is slightly larger and that wouldn’t be a huge issue, but upon trying them on and walking in my house for 2 minutes, they changes color where the crease is. I’m going to return them. They would look rugged in an hour.

It’s a very good looking boot, and really well constructed. They are pretty wide in the front of the foot, so they would do well for people with wide feet. I can tell these will last for years. However, I need to add inserts for arch support, but because the footbed is glued in, it will be difficult to remove (and might do some damage to the boot). Adding full length inserts on top of the footbed makes it too tight in the metatarsal area. I tried half length inserts, and the fit was better, but still uncomfortable. Regarding the weight of the boot, they are pretty heavy compared to my normal athletic shoes and sneakers (outweigh them by 8-10 oz). Even if I give them time to break in, I’m not sure I can get used to the weight. I’m a 63 year old woman, medium build, about 5’4″, 130 lbs. I’m pretty active and healthy, but I feel like the weight of the boot saps the energy out of me.

I normally take a size 7 1/2 with a medium-wide width. The size 8 is a little too big and the size 7 a little too small. I had a pair of these shoes for years before I wore them out and REALLY loved them. I plan to keep the size 8 and wear thick socks.

I had a pair of these boots for 15 years and I absolutely loved them. My problem is I wear a 7 and 1/2 with medium width and these only come in full sizes but the width is perfect. I had to order more than one pair to get the shoes that fit. Zappos was amazing with all my back and forth orders. I received the refund for the boots I sent back super fast. This is the best vendor I have worked with!
