I couldn’t be happier with these boots. I get compliments everywhere I go. They have broken in nicely. And once I put a pair of inserts in them they became quite comfortable.
Please note, these boots have Doc Martin’s signature “zero-arch-support-sole,” so I bought mine one size too big and put in some affordable cushy insoles.
Kate –
I love that these are available in vegan. It’s not a very convincing synthetic leather, but the overall style is okay. But SO WIDE! They also felt about a half size small.
Robyn –
I am so bummed I need a mens size 7! I am on the waiting list should they come available. They are great boots perfect for all seasons and vegan makes them perfect!

Like all Docs, these are stiff at first and have no arch support. They were comfy once I added my inserts and broke them in a bit. The vegan leather looks nice enough, though it does crease in a more plasticky way (forgivable, considering the limitations of synthetic leather). I wish the ankle opening were bigger. I have to wear pants over them; the boots-over-leggings look doesn’t look right on normal-size (as opposed to skinny) calves with these boots.

The size was perfect! The shoes are super flexible and comfortable! As other reviewers commented, there is little arch support so I bought inserts at the drug stores, and they fit great. My one complaint is that they make my feet sweaty. This is the first time I’ve bought non-leather shoes, and maybe this cannot be avoided, since faux-leather shoes are essentially plastic and rubber.
Mary –
Love the look and comfort of the boots . You will need a little extra arch support .
Jen –
Bought these for my husband who loves them, only complaint is they can be a bit difficult to get on and off, but once broken in they’re fine.

The size feels right, but be warned that these are very stiff out of the box. The first couple of times you put them on they are very snug, but after a week or so they start to loosen up. I normally wear Merril Mocs, but winter in Minnesota can mean wet feet without boots and I’m loving the dry feet! My 14 year old daughter want to borrow them, so I’ll take that as them being stylish.
Andrew –
I can’t get my feet in them the foot joke is extremely small but once in they feel good my biggest complaint is NO SOLES. There are half soles and then bare leather at the bottom and I can’t put soles in because of how tight the fit is for the foot to go in

Love these boots! My second pair. Gotta break them in but after that – perfect!! Love the look!

Good rain shoes.

These shoes are super cushiony and comfy and I love the look. Still waiting to see how they hold up but overall very happy.

They feel great once you are able to get them on your feet. I am still in the process of breaking mine in so they are difficult to put on but are super comfy. The vegan leather is easier on the feet compared to the normal Dr. Martens so you can wear them a while before they start to hurt.

Shoes fit perfectly and are exactly what I wanted! Thanks

I love these shoes and wore them all winter- my feet never got wet! On the flip side of that, they aren’t very breathable shoes, so if you’re like me your feet get hot after wearing them for a while. However, they are very comfortable once you break them in.

These boots are super cute! I am usually an 8.5 or 9 depending on the shoe. These size 9 fit great – room for winter socks too. Comfortable, and I love the style. Vegan leather looks great so far! Would recommend!
Val –
As most Docs go, these run a bit large; I’d say about a half size large. Vegan Docs are a great alternative to leather and look great!

I had no idea vegan meant plastic. And these looked like plastic. I didn’t even try them on since they had the plastic look.

The inserts the boots come with feel and look like there are no inserts at all. So you have to buy your own to feel any comfort. I bought the Doc Martens soles which are nicey cushioned except for the fact that they are so thick it takes up all the space in your boots. Making them tight and uncomfortable.

These are beautiful vegan shoes. I should have bought a half size smaller–I’d say they run a half size large.
Philip –
Great purchase for culinary life. I’m a Sous Chef in a busy operation, on my feet most of the day. Didn’t like the Shoes For Crews options for chelsea boots and the SFC “crocs” ran their course so I went for these. Definitely more money but worth it so far. They didn’t require much break-in at all. Sturdy, good support and with a quick wipe down, I can wear them out to dinner after work. Slip resistance isn’t quite on the Crocs level, especially in a walk in freezer but they aren’t terrible.

Because of the design of the back of the boot scooped forward, it pushed my toes into the end. I’d go a half size larger if they had them.

This was my first time trying a pair of Doc Martens. They felt stiff and dug in a bit at the ankles. Made me think there was a pretty substantial break-in time, which I don’t want.
Janet –
I love these. I’ve had them a few years and they still look new. They DID take some breaking in. They were stiffer at first and would rub my shins in the front. I started wearing bandaids and that worked. Now that they’re broken in I don’t have to do that any more, and they’re very comfortable and look great. So happy Doc Martens offers vegan styles.

Perfect. Just need a larger size. I’ll wear thicker socks.
