Definitely a “go to” doc. If you are a women’s shoe size 8.5, you will need to order a size 9.

Love these – my first pair of 1460’s and so glad I went with the nappa leather. It will wear so much better than the smooth leather. Very comfortable and minimal break in period. Thank you Zappos!

The fit is very comfortable, and I’m on my feet all day as a teacher. I love the look and they’re light enough to NOT feel like I’m “clunking “ around with cement shores on my feet all day long. I’ve gotten several compliments, by young people, so that means a lot —to me and the Doc Marten franchise.

The pair I originally ordered from Zappos were defective. The right boot made a loud popping sound when I walked & had air trapped in the sole at the ball of the foot (not the usual Docs squeaky sound). I returned w no issue and went to an official Dr. Marten store to get the same boots. These boots are so comfortable right out of the box and are not stiff because of the soft leather. Highly recommend as they had no break in required for me. I also have narrow feet and these fit great.

I wanted these to work. I had a pair of Docs back in the 90s that I never properly wore in, so I got rid of them and I’ve always regretted it. I recall the pair I had always felt a little too big, and that they were a US 9 (I’m a US 8.5 and they don’t come in half sizes). So I got these ones in a US 8 and I couldn’t even get the things on my feet. Maybe it’s my high arches? Maybe my threshold for pain is lower in my old age? Maybe I’m just not goth enough anymore? Regardless, they went back, and I’ve accepted my uncoolness.

docs are a bit tricky – sizes in brick & mortar stores sometimes don’t seem to match sizes online. there may be an issue with the market they’re coming from? but i can’t swear that this is true. anyways, once you get the right size…what is there to say? they’re docs. they’re great!

Spent HOURS reading reviews to try to figure out what size would work, but recommendations were all over the place. Ended up ordering a 7, 8, and 9. I’m almost always a solid 8, but I DO have one pair of Miz Mooz boots in 7.5, and one pair of L’Artiste in 8.5, so I figured I’d try everything. My usual size 8 fits like a glove! I don’t even think these will need a break-in period (fingers crossed — I just got them today). They’re so cool and don’t really look clunky or heavy. SO much comfy room in the toe box, and they aren’t tight on top of my foot either. I think either thin or medium weight socks will be fine. Can’t wait to wear these everywhere!

had these for almost 2 years for work and they are great, i have bad plantar fasciitis so i had to buy insoles, but after you break them in they are great. you will need long socks though but they are solid.

These were my first pair of Dr. Martens. I love the patent leather! I was told that they need a couple of wear to break it. I’m not sure it is was my narrow feet, but I did not have an issues when I first wore them. They were rather comfortable.
