They definitely run very large. I ordered a full size smaller than my normal size and I probably could have gone 1.5 sizes smaller. They’re comfy, well-made, and cute.

I’ve never really liked Doc Martens but this boot in particular stood out to me. As far as boots go $150 is pretty cheap and for the comfort you’re gonna get out of these it’s not a bad deal.

Wore them for 2 hours a day around the house for about 5 days to break them in. Worked like a charm! Now I wear them comfortably. Runs slightly large but with the right socks they fit perfectly.

These are my second pair of 1460s, and i had to write a review. These are more amazing than my first pair. Both the inner and outer soles are extremely comfortable and bouncy, which makes breaking the boots in not as painful. Other than that, as usual, they at stunning boots!

Fit & Comfort— I have 1460w in size 8 Napa leather. I got these in size 7 and they fit wonderful. The leather on these is very stiff/hard compared to my Napa leather ones. But not in a bad way, just different. I’m typically a size 7.5 (8 sometimes) and decided to get these in 7 because they are unisex. And my 1460w are a touch too big (unless I wear thick socks). They are roomy enough to allow my feet to swell up and not be uncomfortable. They felt like a solid 7.5 to me.
Style & Look— I’m obsessed! The fuchsia is bright and just absolutely fabulous! The toe is more narrow and less rounded when compared to my 1460w, which surprised me. The look/feel of the leather reminds me of rain boots, minus the high glossy shine. Almost plastic-y.
Overall— Again I’m OBSESSED! I want these in every color ever. Quality is top notch so they last forever! And are so iconic and timeless they will always be in style.

Bought these for my daughter. She expected yellow laces and they were black, so though she was disappointed, it was ok. The heel loop is a good size to help pull them on. Shoes are spacious, but not too much so; she will be able to wear thicker socks if she wants to. Long laces that you can lace partially or bottom to top—looks good all ways. Smooth, soft padding that is friendly to the foot. These are her first Docs, and they’re living up to the hype.

The smooth leather are the classic combat boots that you always see people wearing. Yes, they are stiff, but not as stiff as you think. To break in a pair of Doc Martens is a rite of passage. To do it-You will need to wear think boot socks or double or even triple up on socks to avoid blister. Walk around the house every day for about 2 hours for about a week and you’re good to go. (There are lots of videos on youtube that will give you clever tricks-such as freezing them with ziplock bags filled with water for 24 hrs or lathering them with mink oil. I didn’t do any of those and I didn’t end up with blisters. Of course the 1460 are the less painful of the Doc Martens to break in. Some of the others such as the Jadons have a reputation for being “blisters monsters”. So just be aware of this. Reddit has a lot of good tips and advice on how to purchase Docs or tips for breaking them in, btw)
They are true to size. I wear a size 7 and got a size 7. But with boot socks, they were to small. So I went to a size 8 and they fit perfectly. The only downside to the smooth leather is they will pick up every scuff and scratch. So if you are rough on your shoes, you may want to look at the ambassador or some kind of leather that is more forgiving. Otherwise, these are classics!

First off I am a gal in her 70’ s that has difficulty finding shoes comfortable that are also wide enough due to past surgeries. I wear a size 8 1/2 in most shoes, but live in Hoka Bondi 8 tennis shoes. I ordered a size 9 Dr Martin smooth leather and they are going to be perfect. I am wearing them with thick socks for most of the day with no problem to weak them in, and after they are a little stretched, I will wear them with my custom orthotic. I have plenty of toe wiggle room. While breaking them in, I haven’t laced the last eyelet until the leather gets a little more broke in so it doesn’t rub on my shin bone.
