I love these boots!!! Pretty sure I’m going to wear them everyday. They’re super comfy right out of the box. They don’t make my feet all sweaty, I do wear them looser though so that may be why. Have received many compliments on them.

I truly didn’t expect these boots to be so comfortable. I’ve literally worn them everyday since they arrived. Didn’t have to break them in. Dr. Martens has just gotten a new fan for life.

I’ve worn Docs most of my life, and in my experience they always require a break-in period before they’re really comfy to wear. These are the first Docs I’ve ever worn that were comfortable right out of the box, which is seriously amazing to me. Another thing I love about them is that while most other styles of docs have a shiny finish, these are matte. I got the dark brown color and they’re gorgeous.

These are by far the cutest and most versatile Doc Martens I have ever seen. They are a flimsy leather which adds comfort. You can dress them up or down. I am really happy with my purchase overall! The sizing is a little off for me because they do not offer half sizes. Also, this boot is pretty narrow- so do not purchase if you have a wide foot.

I am thrilled. It was just the kind of shoe/boot I have been looking forward. I wear a 9 1/2 and ordered the 9 and it was perfect. So excited about them.

Finally, a style of Doc Martens that has a removable insole to accommodate my orthotic. In addition, the leather in this model is very soft and supple. Unfortunately, as hard as I tried to make it work, my very particular feet are no match for the break-in period. The width was fine but I could feel my toes beginning to cramp up from the stiff sole. I love the style but have to give up the dream of wearing them myself.

My feet are narrow in the heel, wide across the ball. I wear between a 7.5 and 8, usually 8. I ordered the 8 first and they felt like clown shoes. Sized down to a 7 and they feel great. The leather’s very soft and comfortable.

I love the softness of the Pascal boots, however when I received my boots, the grain on each of the boots was SIGNIFICANTLY different. One was very textured and the other was smooth. The softness was equal so maybe this is how they are, but I did not like the difference in grain. Also, the shaft of the boot is so soft, that my heel lifts out of the boot a bit when I walk. I really wanted to like these boots because they are so soft and there is no breaking in period, but they will need to go back 🙁

If your between sizes, I would size up

Let me start off by saying I’m thankful for Zappo’s free shipping and returns. Also, these Pascals, as other’s have stated before, are definitely more comfortable straight out of the box, than the smooth or Napa leather 1460’s. These have softer more pliable leather, and easier to break in if necessary. Having said that, I have to mention the trouble I’ve had trying to find my perfect new 1460 boot. I’m a solid 7.5 in my left foot, but a 7.5-8 in my right foot due to some toe issues I’ve developed. Most recommendations are for those 1/2 size folks to size down in Doc Martens and expect a break-in period. With that in mind, I initially ordered these Pascals in the 7. I also ordered a size 7, and a size 8 in the Nappa 1460 boots as well. The first Pascal size 7’s pair fit great, but I liked the 1460 Nappa look or appearance better and decided I’d try and break in the size 7’s Nappa right boot with time. So I sent back the size 7 Pascals that actually fit great. After a couple of times of trying on the size 7 Nappa 1460’s I realized, the right boot was just way too snug, and probably never would get to a point that my foot would not feel suffocated and hurt while in the boot. So back they went too. So at that point I’m left with no Doc’s. I decided to once again order the 7 Pascals since they felt great the first time. Unfortunately the 2nd pair I received did not fit the same, and the right boot was way too tight and very uncomfortable. I should’ve hung on to the first pair a few days longer. Lesson learned. Don’t be so quick to send back boots so you can do a comparison for longer than a hot minute. Anyhow, I eventually found a pair of 1460 Pascal Virginia’s that fit great. I do recommend these boots, just be aware, that the fit really is not straight and consistent across the board-even within the same style boot. Quite frustrating indeed, but as I said earlier, I’m thankful for the free ship/return policy in order to find just the right shoe.

5 minutes from putting these on they molded right to my foot. I have foot pain and often and these were so easy to wear around.
I have worn Doc Martens for years…over 35 and these did not have the usual break in time. Very happy with this purchase.

Got these for my 14 yr old, since Chuck Taylor high tops aren’t cutting it in the winter weather. They look great. I have high hopes that they will be as durable and ever stylish for my kiddo as they were for me, back in the 1990s.

Not designed for wide feet. Had to return.

first pair of docs and I love them! easy to break in!

I’d ordered this boot in other leather versions and they were so ridiculously stiff I sent them back. These were nice and soft and wearable from day 1 with no issues. I ordered my regular size and had room to add a pair of superfeet insoles because I’m old now and my feet hurt.
Eileen –
Butter soft leather; too bad size 10 was too narrow and runs small. Size 11 was all sold out in white so thought my true size of 10 would fit. Nope. Had to return with another Doc style in white smooth leather size 11 which turned out to be huge. Am rethinking if this brand is for me.
Bailey –
The Pascal Virginia leather is super soft. No need to break in. The only down side is the leather is so soft that it’s like wearing socks, and with the heaviness of the soles, it takes some getting use to. If you have thin ankles, it’s probably not for you, you may want to order the 1460 with smooth leather or the ambassador which has a little bit stiffer leather.
The sizing is exactly what they say. I wear a size 7 and I ordered a size 7, but with boot socks, I had to go to a size 8. These boots are not as large as people say they are. If you wear a half size-I would order at least one size or even 2 size larger. (I also order a size 9 and they fit very nicely with thick boot socks, but my ankles are way to thin for them to feel comfortable.) I hope this helps.

They were just too narrow for my feet, which are not truly wide but like some room. Very soft, for Doc’s.
Dulcena –
First I love how soft these are. But I have high arches and these were a bit painful across the top of the foot. These are made for girls so they run a little narrower than the unisex boots. If I can find this leather in a unisex boot at some point I think they would be a keeper.

I always saw other women wearing these Docs and I thought how awesome they look on them and how they can pull them off and how I would look so silly in them- so I took a chance finally and wow, I absolutely love them, and have gotten so many compliments already. These soft leather pascals are the way to go! I am a true 7.5 and bought the 7US and they fit perfectly with a regular thickness ankle sock inside. They are immediately comfortable out of the box, no break-in period for me, the boot shaft is so soft so there’s no digging into your skin. They felt cushiony and comfortable to walk for hours. So glad I finally bought them!
Cheryl –
I love these boots, leather is extremely soft, no break in , which is great. The removable insole is nice, I use orthotics. I bought these in three different colors, love them ! Would love to see more colors in the Virginia leather. As always, Zappos rock !!!

So perfect. I am old enough to be embarrassed to admit when my first pair of DMs were purchased (at that time, they were still made in the UK, which is where I lived!). I love this version, because I had zero break-in time. The leather is supple, and they’re insanely comfortable for me. Absolutely TTS for my foot. I am always a UK 4 in DMS, and these were no exception. They look great with jeans that have a 27-28″ inseam (I’m 5’5″), and they can pretty much go anywhere you need them to go.

Love them ! I have eight pairs of docs love every one of them !
Wendy –
I love the unhemmed look of the Pascal Virginia boot. The leather is a lot softer and pliable than the Bex version. The Bex has a hemmed opening which rubs against the calf and a much bulkier look due to the platform being about an inch. Definitely order a size up. The width is much narrower if you order your regular size. Trust me on this! I wear an 8.5 or a 39/40. I had to get the size 41 for the boots to be comfortable. I don’t see either the Virginia or Bex “breaking in” quickly so be sure the boots are comfortable at the get-go. These aren’t Birkenstocks that can be broken in relatively quickly. If the boots are uncomfortable, it’s because you didn’t order the right size. Inserts come out which is a plus for orthotics.

THEY ARE BRILLIANT. The leather is very soft with no break in required, and fit like a glove straight out of the box.
Sizing recommendations are all over the place. Some folks have to go up 1/2 a size, some folks have to go down 1/2 a size. You’ve basically got a 50/50 shot of getting it right the first time.
I wear an 8.5 in shoes/boots. I tried a 9 and it was too big. Returned for an 8 and they’re perfection. BUY them! You won’t regret it!
