This shade of maroon is purple enough in the daylight to stand out and win compliments, and brown enough to blend easily with colors like blue, green, khaki, orange, and of course purple. Sizing: In all my other Doc Martens, I’m a UK3. These Docs also say UK3, but look and feel at least a half size smaller–size up when ordering! If I hadn’t wanted so badly to wear them right away, I’d have switched them for UK4s–but they’re tolerable for me with extremely thin socks (dress socks).

Bought these for my daughter. She wears them every day and loves them. Comfortable and well made! Love!

I have not broken in a pair of smooth leather Doc’s for over 20 years. These have really broken in after only two or three wearings and are some of the most comfortable Martens I have owned. Love the all black look on these and wear them 3 or 4 days a week.
Carey R –
I ordered these in a 13 (what I normally wear in Docs) and I was swimming in them. I returned them for a 12, which were much too small.

Great boot. I like the old school style without the traditional yellow stitching that dms normally use. Boots not shiny just a little sheen in black leather. I always get a full size smaller then I need with these. They run big. Also don’t get discouraged if they first feel stiff and tight they will loosen up and mild to your foot but takes awhile. You will appreciate them when broken in and they last forever.

I purchased for work as a duty boot. They are a little stiff when first put on (as advertised), but began to break in very quickly. They fit true to size, and feel just as good as the rest of my Dr. Martens. It’s a great boot!

I am a Doc Martens girl. I wear my Docs every chance I get. In the winter, I live in them. There’s snow and ice every winter in Chicago and I don’t like when my feet are cold. I have never slipped in my Docs and I personally think they look adorable with everything. I’d never owned black Doc Martens before and I fell in love with these. They take breaking in just like every other pair of Doc Martens, but then they essentially mold to your feet! LOVE!

These are pretty roomy for a women’s size 8, but they still fit. They also didn’t take as long to break in as DMs used to, maybe because the leather is less thick or something? The smooth leather is very, very, very smooth– so smooth, in fact, that I was dubious about whether or not they were real leather. They do have a faint “real leather” smell though, so I guess they are. Good boots overall.

quality you expect for Doc martens, true to size.

I generally wear a size 7 (women’s). My Vans are a women’s 7 but my chucks are a 6.5. I am pretty confused about Docs sizing. I was recently in a Dr Marten’s store and tried on the 101 (6-eye boot). I was told by the sales person that docs usually run a size big, so I should size down to a US6. This ended up being true, but even the 6’s felt slightly too big. I tried a 5 and my toes were touching the end–so size 6 it is. They said I could put an insole in. In the absence of half sizes I guess this is fine.
Fast forward to me deciding I want the 1460 mono instead (the product featured on this page). I tried the 6 and my toes were touching the end! So I tried the 7 and I felt like I was sloshing around in them. Again, they suggested the insole. I think the moral of the story is docs sizing is inconsistent. I noticed they have factories in different places and there is variation in sizing and quality of leather between factories. I compared two boots that were labeled the same size from different factories and one pair was definitely longer. I guess when you outsource your manufacturing you can’t really control the quality as well. I think sizing is going to differ from style to style, even different versions of the 1460 may fit differently. It’s frustrating to me because I get kind of OCD about finding the “right” size and their inconsistency really doesn’t help.

Love this pair! It feels a lot lighter and I love how it’s different from the rest of the collection with the stitching being black. Super comfy on the feet too!

I wanted to like these because they are really cute, but they have negative arch support. Like, I felt like they were collapsing under my feet. Even with an orthotic they were awful.

i wear a ladies 12 and the UK 10 is pretty perfect.

I love these boots! The fit is great! My only complaint is that the fit just above the ankle is a little tight, but I know it will loosen with time.

I like them they just feel that they fold a little

True to size

Fits great. Plenty wide. A bit stiff but will soften. Black on black is stylish. Love them. A better sole would have gotten the a 5/5

great

Big foot guy here. Size 13 and wide wide foot. The boot was surprisingly comfortable on the width. I’m also a big guy, you do start to feel pressure points on the soles after wearing them all day.

Arrived on time and with no defect. Just as pictured.

I am btwn a 6.5 and a 7. 7 fits me nicely, in other styles I have to get a 6. I love the all black look. I do wish they were a bit more narrow at the toe but still look so nice on!
Nika –
I bought US size 8 and it is a bit tight on me, even though it said it should be 27.1 cm, while I have Vans Sk8-Hi size 9 and it is 27 cm, but is a bit large for me. So take this into account. Also, I wear Adidas size US size 8.
Nika –
The fit was true to size, however, I did have to compare my size with other brands to find the perfect size for this one. Still think it is a bit shorter than it should be but for me it is fine.

Fit was true to size. Took some time to break in the shoes but overall, very much satisfied.

These boots were lovely well made and comfortable, but I cannot walk in them because they are too tall. They come up too high on my leg.
