I love these shoes already. Have always, for decades, wanted Doc Martens shoes and finally this pair was too beautiful to pass up. I’m an 8.5, sometimes 8.5 in sneakers is too short for me, with narrow/medium feet. I looked at the Dr. Martens website for sizing and noticed that between 8 and 9 (US sizing equivalents) the width went up 1/4 inch, so erred on the 8 (39). It’s perfect in length with plenty of room in the toe box lengthwise. They are not too wide. What may not be apparent online with the yellow butterfly wing version of this shoe is that the entire wing pattern is vinyl coated (not printed). The yellow is more muted than I expected, and what I thought would be orange is actually a clay color (as pictured online). Pretty, maybe more waterproof!

Left shoe was very tight over the top of my foot – right shoe fit perfect. I think it was a sewing defect. Very disappointed. Returning.

Unfortunately, I didn’t heed the other reviewer who complained about the faulty stitch on her left boot…. I got my boots and there’s defective stitching on the right boot, which means that these beautiful, beautiful shoes are too painful to wear and leave a bruise. If you’re looking to order these, they’re really stunning in person, just pray that you end up with 2 boots without defects!

I wear a 8.5 and am a med width, the size 8 book fit loosely and even fit my insert. These are cool and I love butterflies, I wish it was a little more obvious wheat they were from further away, they look abstract from a distance. The material is a rubber kind of feel and it’s very stiff. The left shoe did have something going on with the stitching by the top of the foot that I could have worked with but I am just not able to wear the shoes. They hurt my feet, they had no support and were just too heavy. They could work for someone else that isn’t as sensitive as I am.

Everything about these boots was perfect. The problem, and the reason I had to return them, is my foot anatomically: I have a so called hammer toe that began to hurt after wearing these for an hour in my house. Otherwise I would love to be the proud owner of these beautiful, practical, and badass boots.

I wanted a stand out pair of boots and these black ones with the butterfly design fit the bill. My only complaint is there is some weird stitching on a seam by the top of the laces on the inside of the boot that’s a little annoying, but after loosening the ties and a few wears it’s loosening up.

This is I think my 9th pair of 1460’s. I absolutely love this style. These were a Christmas present from my lovely mom and dad. The rest of them I purchased myself. I think these are so cool and definitely unique. Surprisingly they will match a lot of my outfits. I will probably add my power step insoles to them to make them even more comfortable than they already are.
